Our Services

Since 2007 we have provided support to individuals and organisations on:
  • Training – specialist capacity development and training Programmes (including the DSDC Flagship Best Practice and Aspiring to Excellence Programmes) and bespoke training developed with clients
  • Design – advice and support on Dementia-friendly design including Professional Advice the Audit and Accreditation and the Design School
  • Change – advice, practical support and capacity development to the public and independent sectors on how to develop pathways and support Change in Action, including coaching support
  • Information – promoting knowledge sharing and increasing knowledge and confidence in care staff, leaders and researchers through our Library and Information service
  • Policy – contributing to discussion and dialogue between agencies on important issues at regional and local level which progress the objectives of the Regional Strategy

Guiding Principles

We are guided by the following in all we do:

  • act as an independent agent of change, a source of knowledge, a facilitator of progress and a generator of momentum within Northern Ireland
  • be guided by evidence of what works, drawn from across the world as well as where possible from Northern Ireland itself
  • maximise the value and impact of its expertise and resources by working collaboratively and inclusively with others
  • add value by working alongside agencies and organisations with specific responsibilities for delivery of the Regional Strategy
  • act with minimum bureaucracy and maximum flexibility of approach
  • account publicly for our activities and audit our impact
